HISTORY
KTEL Kilkis Prefecture was founded in 1952, with the application of Law 2119/52 as a joint venture of the Common Bus Collection Fund (KTEL).

With the decision numbered 196360/6.10.67 of the Ministry of Transport, the 46 intercity KTEL of mainland Greece and Crete are merged into 8 K.T.E.L. (Joint Collection Funds of Intercity Buses) on February 1, 1968. KTEL of Kilkis Prefecture is under the 6th K.T.E.Y.L. together with the other KTEL of Central Macedonia.

However, this regime did not prosper and so in 1973, based on Legislative Decree 102, KTEL of Kilkis Prefecture was re-created where it was in its form until 2003. Based on Law 2963/2001, KTEL of Kilkis Prefecture was transformed into a Public Limited Company from 1/7/ 2003. The operation of the new legal form is based on Law 2963/2001 as well as K.N. 2190/1920 “on joint-stock companies”

It originally included 74 shareholder buses. Today KTEL of Kilkis Prefecture has 66 shareholder buses and 2 city buses belonging to KTEL. It also has 2 Tourist Buses, they belong to KTEL KILKIS TRAVEL AETT.
